Cold and Flu Season

Cold and flu viruses are highly contagious, especially in fall and winter when people spend more time indoors. You can catch a virus whenever someone who is already infected coughs, sneezes, shakes your hand or uses an object you share, such as a telephone.

Tips for staying healthy during cold and flu season

  • Try to refrain from touching or rubbing your nose or eyes.
  • Sneeze and cough into a tissue or your sleeve to avoid contaminating your hands.

  • Consider getting a flu shot.
